NEC February 2010 is here

22nd February, 2010 - 6:31pm

Caravan and Boat Show 2010 The other day I worked out that I have spent over 18 months of my life inside caravan shows! I can see myself sitting there with the grandkids asking “Grandad what did you used to do at work?” Telling them that I spent a year and a half of my life at a caravan show isn’t exactly going to help me reach hero status!

However, I’m still excited that it’s showtime again as the Boat & Caravan circus comes to Birmingham for its annual February visit.

I love this show, it’s the biggest and best. I never get to see all of it and I often find a day has gone by and I’ve not even covered 200yds. That’s probably because I talk too much!

My plan is this. Spend Tuesday looking around trying to see what’s what and avoid the rucksack-laden hordes you often see on opening day. Wednesday is a serious business day for me as I talk to lots of companies who want to get involved with Shield and send caravan insurance and motorhome insurance business to us. That’s my real job! There’s a lot of them to keep happy and our new website is getting plenty of attention.

I’m pleased to announce that the Alan Rogers organisation has joined the fold – check out their great website at www.alanrogers.com or come and visit their stand 4310. You’ll also find loads of dealers who work with Shield and our sister brand Crusader. After this I feel a curry and a bottle of Cobra coming on!

Thursday, Friday and Saturday you’ll find me working for Clubcare Insurance alongside the Camping & Caravanning Club. I’ll actually be on the Bailey Caravans stand (5291) giving away a new Bailey Pegasus 534, so come along and get a quote for your chance to enter or visit www.winapegasus.co.uk

Each day I’ll try to post what I’ve seen and like or dislike to this blog. So check it out or come and find me for a chat in person and let me know your views on the show, caravanning or the fit and proper person test for Premiership football club owners!

Sunday is my day of rest – fat chance as I’ve two football teams to manage!
