Campervans at Brighton Breeze festival

Gene and campervan friends at the annual VW Brighton Breeze event for campervan enthusiasts.

Well last weekend was the VW Brighton Breeze, which sounds to me either like a dodgy Brighton dive of a club or a smooth, calm tasting cocktail.

It is in fact an annual event for campervan enthusiasts, where they get the chance to show off their super duper campervans and check out the competition.

And there was no breeze of any kind – it was a sizzling Saturday in October.

Seating area within the Motorhome and Caravan Show

Birmingham is buzzing - it's been pretty busy at the Motorhome and Caravan Show.

Welcome to my fourth blog from this week’s Motorhome and Caravan Show at Birmingham’s NEC. If you haven’t booked, you can still just turn up on the door at what is proving to be a very popular event indeed.

Whereas on Tuesday I immersed myself in some of the newest arrivals in the caravan market, this time around my focus is very much on motorhomes.

And what a place this is if you want to see the hundreds of new Motorhome makes and models from the very best, altogether under one roof. It’s worth coming, even if you’re “just browsing”.

Sprite Lite caravan

The Sprite Lite caravan starts at well under £10,000 and is perfect for the first time caravanner.

Wow, the Motorhome and Caravan Show at Birmingham’s NEC started on a real high.

Some 13,800 folk came through the doors on the first day (Tuesday).

The majority of these were Caravan Club members, taking advantage of a special ticket offer, but nonetheless helping the whole show get off to the kind of great start that bodes well not just for the rest of the week but the whole season ahead.

Stealth Concordia Tranquility caravan

Stealth Concordia Tranquility caravan - a big single axle family model.

The new Stealth 2012 Concordia caravan model range of: Stealth Concordia Harmony (two berth end washroom), Stealth Concordia Serenity (fixed bed layout) and the Stealth Concordia Tranquility (end bunkroom layout) is miles away from the original Stealth’s.  It is now more conventional caravans.

We take a closer look at the Stealth Tranquility caravan – a family layout.

Does it hold up to its promise?
