Just got back from a brilliant NCC (National Caravan Council) Forum in soggy Scunthorpe. This is an opportunity for everybody in the caravan industry to get together and network and discuss many of the issues surrounding caravanning in all its forms.
I sat in a morning session on the state of the park home (residential) and luxury lodge sector. This has been one of the most seriously damaged sectors in the current recession.

Hi All
Just a quick note to say that I won’t be blogging today as we are mobbed by the hordes at the NEC Show. It is full of buzz and excitement so if you’re not coming tomorrow then why not?
Next time I’ll bring you my thoughts on the new Bailey Pegasus 534.

Speaking to lots of people today, giving quotes and listening to their stories of their caravanning exploits.
It amazes me how many people still keep their caravan at home. I never would, simply because it makes it very obvious when you’ve gone away. It’s a bit like sticking a big ‘burgle me please’ sign in your front garden.

Saw two salesman this morning dressed in Star Trek outfits! Now caravan dealers are usually more likely to be seen in Hugo Boss than lycra so I wondered what was going on. My friend Richard from the Dethleffs Owners Club dragged me over to take a look.
